Step 1
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt; set aside.

In a separate bowl, beat the butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Reduce speed to low and add the Redpath® Icing Sugar. Increase speed back to medium and beat until pale and fluffy; about 3 minutes.

Beat in the egg, followed by the vanilla extract.

Stir in the dry ingredients with a wooden spoon. Gather dough into a ball, wrap in plastic and chill for 30 minutes.

Grease or line a baking sheet, or a pizza pan, with parchment paper.

On a lightly-floured surface, roll out chilled dough into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to prepared baking sheet.

Fold the outer 1 inch towards the centre of the dough. Pinch to create a ½ inch lip around the edge of the dough.

Prick the dough all over with a fork and place in freezer for 20 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

Bake crust in oven until golden brown for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove and cool completely on the baking sheet.

Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until completely smooth.

Spread the cream cheese topping evenly onto the cooled crust and decorate with desired toppings.
